Department of Labor Hosts Webinar on the Recovery Act

On April 16, the Department of Labor held the webinar "Shared Vision for Youth: Federal Partnership Presentation on Recovery Act Funds for Youth (Selected Programs)" to highlight the funding in the Recovery Act that will impact youth and youth programming. Topics discussed include the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), AmeriCorps, as well as Housing and Urban Development and Environmental Protection Agency programs. Items of note include the increase in WIA eligibility to 24, and $89,000,000 in funding for AmeriCorps State and National, $65,000,000 for AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).
